Wireless Energy Transfer Using Resonant Inductive Coupling

̈C This paper presents a concept of transmission of electrical energy from a power source to an electrical load without physical conducting medium. It is based on the well known principle of resonant inductive coupling and, in particular, resonant evanescent coupling [1] .This well known physics leads trivially to the result of energy efficient midrange wireless energy-exchange. We establish that such a non-radiative scheme can lead to “strong coupling” between two medium distant states and thus could indeed be practical for efficient medium-range wireless energy transfer.
